Regrets and Your Options
Well, now I know longer trust Micheal or anyone at AdBlock. I wished I had never donated because this is not what I thought I was signing up for.
I will stay with AdBlock ONLY if I hear soon that the default setting for ALL installations has the option to view 'acceptable' ads turned OFF. Like many, many others, I'll be moving on soon.
Otherwise, that is proof enough that the next step will be that we won't have privacy and you will be serving ads to the highest bidder will to pay you. Not knowing the company that owns AdBlock is deceptive enough. You guys have ruined the brand name. I don't think it will ever recover now.

Our apologies for not getting back to you sooner. We take your feedback to heart, and have been wrestling with how best to respond. We understand your frustration. Truly. We wish we could share the details of the purchase and our participation in the Acceptable Ads program with you. However, the buyer wishes to remain anonymous and we are legally obligated not to reveal their identity, or any other details of the purchase.
We can tell you that our desire to make the web a better place by getting rid of evil advertising has not changed. We still do not, and never will, accept money to show ads that are simply unacceptable. We hope you continue to trust us, but when you get right down to it, it's your call and no one else's, and we think that's pretty much the way it ought to be.

As far as I’m concerned there are NO *acceptableI ads. You folks have sold out to the advertisers. You are no longer trustworthy and your brand is dead. I’ll never believe anything you say nor will I trust adblock’s creator in any future development.
Once trust is broken its gone here I’m afraid…unless you reverse course immediately. Stop this raping of the masses just to make a buck. Move to a paid subscription. I did donate for that reason but I’ll never give you a dime otherwise and I would hope for a quick demise of your company as a statement to those in the future tempted by avaricious dollars.
