came up. I used the target-based add-blocker you provided and the
add disappeared after right-clicking and following the directions.
I don't know how long it will stay away but so far, so good. The
function of the tool is a little bit buggy, as I had to wait for
the slider to catch up to the prompt and the debugging info had to
be used a couple of times before it registered... might be my
internet connection. Using Windows 10. I'll keep you updated.
Thanks. DV

davalliance49tag:old-support.getadblock.com,2013-08-06:Comment/388684902016-01-10T00:07:28Z2016-01-10T00:07:28ZStatic Adds in Left Pane of YahooMail

Hi DV,

Thank you for your support, and for the screenshot!

I'm not seeing any ads in Yahoo Mail with AdBlock running. It
sounds as if AdBlock is blocking other ads in Yahoo Mail (you can
compare by pausing AdBlock and refreshing the page). If that's the
case, then this may be a test Yahoo is running on randomly selected
accounts. Is the filter you created still working to block those
ads?

Thank you for your quick response to my informational query
regarding the static add in my Yahoo Mail account.
You are correct in your observation that AdBlock is addressing the
distracting scrolling adds that are ubiquitous in the RIGHT Pane of
Yahoo Mail when AdBlock is not engaged. I am enjoying NOT having
those intrusive ads come into my eMail when I am trying to take
care of personal and professional business. The little
"pop-up" non-dynamic add is not cumbersome nor distracting to my
internet experience and is, to this date, remaining neutralized
with AdBlock's utility, as I mentioned in my forum contact/eMail to
you.
My main reason for my contact with you is to give you information
that may give you insight to trends and workarounds that various
companies may employ in order to defeat your strategies to blocking
intrusive adds.
Again, thank you for your efforts and I look forward to the
constructive utilization of AdBlock which helps me become more
productive and to be more efficient when utilizing the benefits
that come from using the internet; a concept that was initially not
meant to be commercialized but was introduced to make us more
productive and efficient in our intellectual endeavours.
Respectfully,
DAV
