Pop UP ad windows
I am running Mac OS 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1. 10 -- the latest version of Safari for that OS. I have activated block pop up ads in Safari preferences. That seems to block ads being inserted INTO a website but not windows that are ads themselves. An example of such a window is smarterlifedaily dot com. This window pops up many times a day on my computer.
Two questions:
Does AdBlock work on my system (older OS and Safari)?
Does it stop separate windows such as the one mentioned above
loading?

Hi E A,
Apologies for the super late reply! We're mostly volunteers or part-timers here at AdBlock support, and we've been digging out from under a ton of backlogged requests.
AdBlock should work fine with your system. AdBlock can't stop popup windows in Safari, however. This is a limitation of Safari, not AdBlock. The ads you're seeing may be caused by malware on your computer. AdBlock can only block ads that were on webpages in the first place.
We recommend following the instructions on The Safe Mac's Adware Removal Guide, running an antivirus/antimalware scan, and removing any browser extensions you don't remember installing.
You can also find further instructions in our Knowledge Base.
Hope this helps!
