Adblock Slow

Why does Adblock slow down browsing considerably? It should make site loading faster if anything...

    Hello Bryce,

    Are you sure that it's AdBlock that is causing this problem? Can you try to pause AdBlock and see if it's faster? If not, then it's not AdBlock!

    The slowdown is definitely caused by the Adblock extension.

    I have conducted many tests using multiple versions of Chrome and Chromium; ranging from the stable release to dev. My tests are using the default settings with the default block lists (adblock custom and easylist).

    The extension slows down website loading approximately 15-30%. I have an extremely fast internet connection and powerful computer with multiple browser environments. While the loading times can only be seconds different, the difference is still noticeable and slower.

    In my testing, I can confirm that Adblock Plus does not suffer from these slowdowns.

    We have released update for AdBlock, which can fix the loading of some sites.
    Could you please test AdBlock and let us know about that?
