Hulu (and other streaming video sites)
Lately, Hulu has been detecting AdBlock and refuses to play until it's disabled. They even posted instruction on how to disable it: http://www.hulu.com/support/article/21091762
I don't know if you can get around that, but a secondary issue is that when I do pause AdBlock, it still complains about it and makes me wait quite a bit longer than the ads would take. So that doesn't seem to work either.

Is the Hulu workaround enabled in AdBlock Button > Options > Enable
Advanced Options?
2 Posted by Anil on Oct 05, 2013 @ 10:11 PM
Yes, that's enabled. What exactly is it supposed to do?

The Hulu workaround disables the filters in EasyList which allow all Hulu ads.
EasyList put those in because they were unable to block Hulu ads on
sites with embedded videos. AdBlock disables those to at least let you
use Hulu without ads, even if other sites let you see ads.
Does turning it off make the site work (and let you see ads)

I even tried unchecking that, restarting browser, pausing AdBlock, and finally navigating to hulu.com. The video still hangs when it wants to show an ad and prompts me to go to that page (https://adblock.tenderapp.com/discussions/problems/374/r?go=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5odWx1LmNvbS9zdXBwb3J0L2FydGljbGUvMjEwOTE3NjI=) and pause AdBlock even though it's already paused.

I tried whitelisting hulu and the symbol turned to a green thumbs-up sign, but hulu still balks and insists that I turn it off.

AdBlock is the only extension I have installed. Thanks for the help so far, by the way!

Can you try disabling AdBlock by unchecking the checkbox at about:extensions?

Well... even doing that and restarting my browser (Chrome) I still get the problem. I guess this problem is not on AdBlock's end?

Probably. You might want to run a virus scan and see if that helps.
