MyYahoo, AdBlock and JavaScript (Opera 12)

For some months with Opera 12, there's been some slow loading problems with MyYahoo and some associated linked pages, especially the financial ones (http://my.yahoo.com/?fr=yfp-t-403). I wondered if turning off JavaScript on that site would help and it has, but when it's off there's an odd thing going on with an ad. The screenshots show how with JS enabled, the ad on the upper left shows as one line, but with JS disabled, the ad space expands to what must be its full size box, although blank. Since AdBlock sees the ad as blocked, further attempts to block it don't work. I don't know if anything can be done, but what's going on with this? Thanks,

    Hello Roger,

Sorry for the very late response, we've been discussing this issue in private. Our suggestion is that you update to Opera 15/16. Please let us know how it goes!

    Kind Regards,
    Jérémy Keusters

    "Jérémy ,

Opera webkit version is now at 17 or 18 ("next"), but it is *not* a
full function browser yet. That's not just my opinion, but what Opera
developers on their blog in effect stated at the beginning of the
webkit project (Opera 15). That is, they are introducing the old
features, the ones that make it fully functional, version by version,
and they are not yet close to completion. In the meantime, Opera 12.16
remains officially supported, and probably a good majority of users are
still with it. Ask Opera if you don't believe me.

The MyYahoo Finance pages problem still exists, but now a couple of
    steps in, i.e., at a particular stock's page (e.g., . Clicking on a
    stock's news links gets slow.

***A new problem is with the new Sports home page, which in Opera 12
does not show the Scoreboard or the news articles down the center. See
http://tinypic.com/a/2uqyr/1 for a comparison of screenshots, Opera vs.
FF25. Others on the Opera newsgroup have confirmed it.

OK. We are no longer developing AdBlock for Opera 12, as it uses an older extension system, as the user base is low. If you know how to, you can get the source code for the last version we made for Opera 12 from the attached file, and make your own edits. It is licensed under the GNU GPLv3

I should have guessed, since the past few weeks Opera 12 has often been
opening with some ads, only to get rid of them on refresh.

Btw, in my previous response I mistook you for Yahoo tech support. All
that stuff about the new sports page being incomplete is irrelevant to
    Ad Block.

    Hello,

    No problem!
We are sorry again for stopping supporting Opera 12. You can still use our extension on Chrome or Safari.

    Have a nice day!

    Kind Regards,
    Jérémy Keusters
