problems with MyYahoo and some associated linked pages, especially
the financial ones (<a href=
"http://my.yahoo.com/?fr=yfp-t-403">http://my.yahoo.com/?fr=yfp-t-403</a>).
I wondered if turning off JavaScript on that site would help and it
has, but when it's off there's an odd thing going on with an ad.
The screenshots show how with JS enabled, the ad on the upper left
shows as one line, but with JS disabled, the ad space expands to
what must be its full size box, although blank. Since AdBlock sees
the ad as blocked, further attempts to block it don't work. I don't
know if anything can be done, but what's going on with this?
Thanks,</p></div>Rogertag:old-support.getadblock.com,2013-08-06:Comment/293150162013-11-08T19:14:28Z2013-11-08T19:14:28ZMyYahoo, AdBlock and JavaScript (Opera 12)<div><p>Hello Roger,</p>
<p>Sorry for the very late response, we've been discussing this
issue in private. Our suggestion is that you update to Opera 15/16.
Please let us know how it goes!</p>

<p>Opera webkit version is now at 17 or 18 ("next"), but it is
<em>not</em> a full function browser yet. That's not just my
opinion, but what Opera<br>
developers on their blog in effect stated at the beginning of
the<br>
webkit project (Opera 15). That is, they are introducing the
old<br>
features, the ones that make it fully functional, version by
version,<br>
and they are not yet close to completion. In the meantime, Opera
12.16<br>
remains officially supported, and probably a good majority of users
are<br>
still with it. Ask Opera if you don't believe me.</p>
<p>The MyYahoo Finance pages problem still exists, but now a couple
of<br>
steps in, i.e., at a particular stock's page (e.g., . Clicking on
a<br>
stock's news links gets slow.</p>
<p>***A new problem is with the new Sports home page, which in
Opera 12 does not show the Scoreboard or the news articles down the
center. See<br>
<a href=

a comparison of screenshots, Opera vs.<br>
FF25. Others on the Opera newsgroup have confirmed it.</p>

an older extension system, as the user base is low. If you know how
to, you can get the source code for the last version we made for
Opera 12 from the attached file, and make your own edits. It is
licensed under the GNU GPLv3</p></div>Kierantag:old-support.getadblock.com,2013-08-06:Comment/293150162013-11-11T00:05:29Z2013-11-11T00:05:29ZMyYahoo, AdBlock and JavaScript (Opera 12)<div><p>I should have guessed, since the past few weeks Opera 12 has
often been<br>
opening with some ads, only to get rid of them on refresh.</p>
<p>Btw, in my previous response I mistook you for Yahoo tech
support. All<br>
that stuff about the new sports page being incomplete is irrelevant
to<br>
Ad Block.</p>

We are sorry again for stopping supporting Opera 12. You can still
