Higher Ping Times using Adblock
I'm noticing that when using Adblock within Chrome, my ping times jump up from around 10 ms to around 17-18 ms using speedtest.net. When I pause Adblock or disable it, it goes back down. Any reason as to why this is happening?

AdBlock needs to check for ads on every time it connects to a server to
download a webpage. This slows you down, but, as you noticed, it's usually
only about 10ms, and isn't noticeable. Even in a Flash program / game like
SpeedTest.net, we're checking, because we check for ads on those (e.g.
YouTube ads)
