product" as all ads disappeared. Then I realized videos are no
longer appearing either (plus who knows what else.). The really
troubling thing is I "uninstalled" ad block, reset safari, emptied
the cache, restarted,,, and ads are STILL blocked, videos still
don't work (on major sites such as tmz and cnn),,, AND ad block is
nowhere to be found in the extension page of safari. WHAT HAVE YOU
DONE TO MY COMPUTER???????????? thanks Allan</p></div>allan rodritag:old-support.getadblock.com,2013-08-06:Comment/299032102013-11-10T18:10:20Z2013-11-10T18:10:20Z` no videos working anymore<div><p>AdBlock will not be running if it is not showing at Safari >
Preferences ><br>
Extensions. There's enough people looking at Safari's code (the
actual code<br>
for Safari is available for anyone to see) that a bug like that
would have<br>
been detected by now. AdBlock probably isn't installed, but you may
have<br>
something else installed that makes it happen, and not AdBlock.</p>
<p>Have you tried running a virus scan recently?</p></div>Kierantag:old-support.getadblock.com,2013-08-06:Comment/299032102013-11-10T19:26:24Z2013-11-10T19:26:25Z` no videos working anymore<div><p>with all due respect, I NEVER install extensions (until this
one), and I never have had a virus... EVER. I'm very careful, and
I'm sorry, but the timing of this problem leaves no other
possibility BESIDES ad block. Plus, why are the ads STILL
blocked???</p></div>allan rodritag:old-support.getadblock.com,2013-08-06:Comment/299032102013-11-10T20:51:44Z2013-11-10T20:51:44Z` no videos working anymore<div><p>How do you know the ads are blocked? Are you on a website that
you know has<br>
ads? (Not all websites do) Can you check on <a href=
"http://nytimes.com">http://nytimes.com</a> - they do<br>
have ads, though you may have to scroll down a bit.</p>
<p>Also, just being careful doesn't mean you won't get viruses.
Some infected<br>
websites make your computer install viruses without you noticing.
It's<br>
still good to install an anti-virus, just in case. There are many
free ones<br>
out there, so you might want to have a look around. Macs aren't
as<br>
virus-proof as they used to be, either. You can find a few just by
looking<br>
at the top results at<br>
<a href=

Search for<br>
free antivirus mac), incidentally, that search has ads<br>
on it (at least for me) when AdBlock is disabled.</p>
<p>If you really want to make sure AdBlock isn't installed, try
another<br>
browser, such as Chrome or Firefox. By default, there are no
extensions<br>
installed (apart from possibly one installed by your Antivirus,
many have<br>
Link Scanning or "Do Not Track" extensions these days.</p></div>Kierantag:old-support.getadblock.com,2013-08-06:Comment/299032102013-11-11T19:57:57Z2013-11-11T19:57:57Z` no videos working anymore<div><p>listen,,, I'm not a moron. I stupidly installed adblock and now
it is uninstalled, except whatever adblock does to block "ads" when
it is installed is still happening in my computer, except that
adblock is "gone". HOW DO I CORRECT THIS????</p>
<p>FYI: where news videos used to be now there is an empty box
which says "blocked plug in".</p></div>allantag:old-support.getadblock.com,2013-08-06:Comment/299032102013-11-11T20:24:23Z2013-11-11T20:24:23Z` no videos working anymore<div><p>If AdBlock isn't installed, then it can't block ads. The
"blocked plugin"<br>
box you mention is because the plugin is out of date because of a
security<br>
bug. You need to update the plugin for that video.</p></div>Kieran
