Ad Block Payment

When I first installed Adblock (a few years ago) I had made a payment even though t said that it wasn't a requirement. Now all of a suddent every time I open my browser a tab opens with the payment request page from Adblock. I recently installed a new antivirus, but I don't see how that would open a tab with Adblock every time. Now I'm not sure if you expect payment every so many months, but then you shouldn't say that you function on the "honor" system. I did pay.

Please advise

    Hi Tanya,

Sorry for the trouble! The payments are indeed fully optional, and don't ever expire — in fact, AdBlock should only display the payment page once even if you didn't pay for it.

There are two common causes for this issue:

    1. Disk cleaning programs can remove browser-related files (and localStorage files specifically), which will reset AdBlock's settings and make it think that it just has been installed. Can you please make sure that your disk/file cleaning programs aren't removing browser-related files, and that your new anti-virus doesn't have any similar features enabled?
    2. This could be also caused by a corrupted Chrome profile. First, try reinstalling AdBlock (the payment page will appear once after this), or if it still doesn't make any difference, try creating a new Chrome profile.

    Hope this helps!
