When I remove adblock, marketwatch.com works normally. Adding it again causes the same freeze. This is google chrome, latest edition.

    Hi Kent,

    Can you please:

    1. Click the AdBlock button and select Options, then click SUPPORT. Next to "Have our team requested some debug info?" click here. Paste the text from the box into this discussion.
    2. Click the FILTER LISTS tab and then click update now. Does that change anything?
    3. If the problem persists, uncheck all the lists on the filter lists page and reload the page where you’re seeing the problem. Does that change anything?
    4. If unchecking all the filter lists fixes the problem, re-enable the lists one by one, reloading the page where you’re seeing the problem after each. (Make sure to wait for AdBlock to fetch the list before reloading the page.) Which list causes the problem to happen again?
    5. If unchecking all the filter lists did not fix the problem, try the same thing with your browser extensions: Disable all of them, then re-enable the extensions one by one, reloading the problem page after each. Which extension causes the problem to happen again?

    Checking EasyList causes the problem.  However, without it, Adblock does not seem to really do anything.

    Hi Kent,

    The two filter lists you absolutely need are AdBlock (Custom) and EasyList. However, never fear! You don't need to keep EasyList disabled. This was reported to the EasyList maintainers a couple of days ago. Someone posted a workaround. Would you mind trying it and letting us know whether it helps?

    1. Re-enable EasyList.
    2. Add the following rules to AdBlock's custom filters:
      @@||partner.googleadservices.com^$domain=marketwatch.com @@||contextual.media.net^$domain=marketwatch.com

    Hi Kent,

    OK, go ahead and remove those two custom filters. This is really a filter list issue, not specifically AdBlock. I reported it to the folks who maintain EasyList. Hopefully, someone will look into this soon. We don't have any control over that, however.

    I'll post back here when (if) I hear from them. In the meantime, can you try using a different browser such as Firefox or Opera, with AdBlock running, and see if that makes a difference?

    Hi Kent,

    Sure, we try to replicate the issues that are reported. Often we're unable to, unless the problem is with AdBlock itself. Even then we may not see exactly what the user does, because of all the variables involved.

    Do you still get that error you saw in Firefox when you pause AdBlock? Also, I can't quite tell from your reply, is the site working in Firefox?
