Adblock Blocks Ads AND Facebook Posts

When I select an ad for Adblock to block, it blocks it but also blocks parts of some Facebook posts. When I pause Adblock, the ads and the Facebook posts return.

    Hi Scott,

It sounds as if trying to block an ad picked up a little too much on the page. That's easy to do. Our "block an ad on this page" wizard shows you a preview of how the page will look with the filter it's about to create, but it can be easy to miss parts of a page that will no longer work.

While on Facebook.com, click the AdBlock button and select Undo my blocks on this domain. Reload the page.

If that doesn't work or you don't see that option on the AdBlock menu, try this:

    1. Click the AdBlock button and select Options. Click the CUSTOMIZE tab.
    2. Next to Manually edit your filters click Edit.
    3. Delete the lines containing the word "facebook."
    4. Click Save and reload your Facebook page.

Let us know if this doesn't help!

    Thank you.
I think it boils down to me just being too agressive with the Block it tool. I dont want to turn off the tool or delete the Facebook line because I want to continue to delete ads.

    Hi Scott,

In that case, delete the current Facebook rule and manually block the ads again, just not quite as aggressively. :) As an alternative, you might want to subscribe to the Fanboy's Annoyances filter list in AdBlock's options. That should help block ads in Facebook.
