Adblock breaks inline video player in Google Drive

Can you provide detailed steps on how to reproduce the problem?

  1. Enable adblock on the Google Drive page.
  2. Try to play a video saved to your drive using the inline streaming player
  3. Say "wow, that is messed up"

What should happen when you do the above steps
Video should play in a window that resembles the YouTube page. Clicking on fullscreen button should result in fullscreen video.

What actually happened?

Scroll bars appear on the right and bottom edge of the video, and no controls are visible. If you scroll down, you will see the controls but the buttons are enormous, like 1/4 the size of the video window. If you manage to find the fullscreen button and click it, the top half of the screen will consist of the bottom half of your video while the bottom half of the screen will consist of an apparently random selection of controls. Disabling adblock immediately makes the page behave as expected.

Do you have any other comments? If you can, can you please attach a screenshot of the bug?

This worked normally yesterday, so I assume some sort of definition updated was pushed today that caused the problem?

If unchecking all filter lists fixes the problem, which one filterlist must you check to cause the problem again after another restart?

    Hi Adrian,

    Thanks for your report! An issue with the Malware Protection filter list caused YouTube to flake out today.

    The folks who maintain the list quickly corrected the problem and released an update. To get it, just refresh your filter lists:

    1. Click the AdBlock button and select Options.
    2. On the FILTER LISTS tab, click update now.
