I want to say, that user is the part of blocking ads. We are
just developing this extension and user has always the choice, if
he want to block all ads or only ads on some pages.
Yes, this extension blocks all ads by default and I think that many
people who want to "unblock" ads they will do it.

But we are looking for option, how both (user of AdBlock and
maintainers of servers) can live with ad-blocking software.

Best regards,

please do share your plan on how you are trying to find a fair
solution for both sides.

I'm not sure how much you are involved in it, but this recent
"campaign" to make adblock super popular all over the internet is
indeed quote: "going to change the internet". What you don't
realize is that all great content that comes free on the internet
is in one way or another sponsored and paid for by ads (or
donations). There is no such thing as "free" not even on the
internet.

Apart from the hypocracy of you guys creating an ad to promote
adblock, you are also breaking your word to find a solution for
both sides. Instead you go on to make a youtube video and a
crowdfunding campaign to increase the amount of internet users
blocking ads that pay the very people that run the website these
users are on.

Since you are probably not comprehending this, or frankly not
caring about content providers in the least bit, at least make a
compromise:
Keep AdBlock off by default and just give the option to block ads
for certain sites.

Either way, if your campaign succeeds, that precious internet of
yours will deteriorate as those responsible for its content can't
even pay their bills... I'm not talking out of my a** here since i
am one of these people and i know the amount of people using
adblock. It is only getting worse. Thanks for that

Tobytag:old-support.getadblock.com,2013-08-06:Comment/284179262013-08-27T21:05:43Z2013-08-27T21:05:43ZThanks for taking away my income, you single handedly proved that one needs Ads to support the business.

David and Toby,

I understand that you feel that AdBlock is harmful to the web.
We obviously feel that it is a good thing or we wouldn't be working
on it.

We hope to be able to find ways to make everyone happy, but our
first commitment is to give users control over their browsing
experience, just like content creators also have control over what
they give away and what they charge for.

Thanks for your honest feedback, and we wish you well.

nathan
