Hi there -

Can’t find a reference to this in the FAQ, and I apologise if the answer is obvious, but is there a way to use adblocker to stop full page popups from opening?

I am plagued by the likes of Bet365 and Mackeeper, and I’d like a way to stop the entire page from opening, rather than block specifc ads on a page once it has established itself.

Is this possible?

All the best,
Pete Hambling,
London

    Hi Pete,

The ads you're seeing are injected by malware on your computer, specifically Ads by Bet365.com and MacKeeper Ads. AdBlock can only block ads that were on web pages in the first place.

We recommend following the instructions on The Safe Mac's Adware Removal Guide, which include running an antivirus/antimalware scan and removing any browser extensions you don't remember installing.

Please see the following Knowledge Base articles for general information about AdBlock and malware:
