Will video ad blocking be supported in Safari 6.1?

Apple will soon release a new version of OS X, and Safari 6.1 will be included with it. The developer seed of Safari 6.1 is available now for free from Apple's developer site.

A limitation in Safari has prevented video ads from being blocked in the past (I haven't seen any details on what this limitation is -- can someone elaborate?). My question is: does Safari 6.1 address this limitation? If so, are we likely to see video ad blocking in the near future?

Thanks for this awesome extension!

OS X Mavericks comes with Safari 7.0, not 6.1.

I, too, am very interested in this question, though. I really hope the issue is changed because that is essentially the only thing keeping me on Chrome.

    Hello Kyleolivo & Patrick F.,

We have indeed some issues with video blocking in the current version of Safari. We are already busy testing Safari 7.0 and we hope to be in time to release fixes specially for Safari. (So Video Blocking works again in Safari 6.0.5 & Safari 7.0)

If you discover by yourself any bugs with AdBlock in Safari 7.0, feel free to open a discussion so we can fix them.

If you have some experience with codes, you can also try to write a patch yourself to fix it. (You can find the code here, it's licensed under GPLv3)

    Kind Regards,
    Jérémy Keusters
