Acceptable Ads overrides manual blocking
If you enable Acceptable Ads, but then still want to block one or more of those ads (like the Google search ads, for example), you end up with duplicate strings in the manual filter list for the same thing, and the ad still shows.
Is there any reason why the manual filter doesn't have the final call on showing ads?

Hi John,
The reason you're unable to block some sites manually is that whitelist rules override blacklist rules. There are a LOT of whitelist rules in the Acceptable Ads list.
Your best solution may be to keep the Acceptable Ads list off, and just whitelist sites you want to support. Or, if you want to whitelist most sites you visit, use the Show ads everywhere except for these sites option to allow ads on every site except for the few you want to block.
