Filters by default
Hi,
Didn't find any post on this matter.
I find not normal that some particular filters are activated by
default, such as those which block social media buttons (actually 2
filters in the "other filters" list that must be unchecked to make
those buttons show up in Weebly for instance).
I spent a couple of hours to figure out why I couldn't set these
buttons on my website. I hate you (rhetorically speaking, of course
;)
Have a good day anyway.
Bruno

Hi Bruno,
No worries, we still love you. :)
Seriously, though, AdBlock comes with three filter lists enabled by default (AdBlock custom filters, EasyList, and Malware protection). None of them should interfere with social media buttons. Can you tell us which of the default lists was causing the trouble?

Hi Rhana,
Thanks for your indulgence ;)
Well, I made a screenshot with some comments so that you can see which list is causing the issue on Weebly (didn't check on other sites). It's a French localized version, but I suppose the layout is the same.

Sorry Rhana to bother you while busy with other issues but I've got to know what's going on with these filters blocking social media buttons on Weebly websites.
Thanks.

Hi Bruno,
Our apologies for not getting back to you. Our support team was off over the weekend.
Those are optional filters, which should not be enabled by default every time you start Chrome. Do you by any chance sign in to Chrome, sync'ing your browser settings through your Google account?
Can you please try something?
1. Disable those filter lists.
2. Sign out of your Google account.
3. Start Chrome, but do not sign in.
4. Check AdBlock. Are those lists still disabled?
If the lists remain disabled when you don't sign in to Chrome but they are enabled again when you do sign in, it probably means your sync settings are the culprit. Try disabling the lists while you're signed in and tell us what happens, OK?

Hi Rhana,
Those filter lists remain unactivated when Chrome is restarted after I have signed out of my Google account (I even uninstalled and reinstalled AdBlock), and even after having signed in.
So everything is for the best in the best of all possible worlds. But still, I can't figure out how they could have been activated. Deep mystery...
Thanks anyway for your help and sorry for the inconvenience.
