Prevent new tab loading of inconsistent FQDN
Hi friends,
Is there a way to avoid new tab opening of unresolved or 127.0.0.1
resolved sites ?
Some of intrusive or ransom-ware sites are not blocked by AdBlock
so, in order to block these web pages from loading, i often put the
fqdn of the unwanted sites in my /etc/hosts and point them to
127.0.0.1 (localhost). It works fine but i still have a blank/error
opened tab in Safari. I'm looking for a place to create the
following rule :
if dns resolution is localhost or 127.0.0.1, kill the popup new tab
instantly.
I know that AdBlock is able to prevent tab for opening, i just need
to rule it with the dns case above.
It will be also useful if some of us want to kill popup newtabs of
non-classified or simply personal sites list.
Any ideas ?
Thanks,
Marcello

Hi Marcello,
That's an interesting idea. I'll pass it to our developers and see whether they have any suggestions.
