"allow non-intrusive advertiising" breaking custom filters on websites

Hi there, it seems that enabling the non-intrusive advertising feature in adblock was preventing me from creating custom exclusions for amazon.com... and I suspect that this affects other sites...

I don't mind enabling the non-intrusive ad features, but if it prevents me from blocking any content on some sites, then it's a no-go. Please ad some workaround for this.

    Hi Dan,

My apologies for the delay in responding. I wanted to consult our developers before I answered.

Whitelist filters always override blacklisting. The Acceptable Ads filter list whitelists a lot of sites. Not surprisingly, Amazon.com is one of them. There is a way to work around this. It's a bit convoluted, however, so I'll give you a second option as well.

This works only in Chrome, by the way. You'll need to have the "I'm an advanced user; show me advanced options" feature enabled in AdBlock's options (**GENERAL** tab).

Basically, you're going to add to AdBlock's Disabled filters (**CUSTOMIZE** tab) the whitelist filter for a site you want to blacklist. (AdBlock ignores anything in that list.) Then, you'll add the blacklist filter to your custom filters.

You can use our new Resource page to find out what the whitelist filter is.

So roughly, these are the steps:

    1. Visit a site you want to blacklist. Click the AdBlock button and select Show all requests.
    2. Green text indicates whitelisted resources. Search the resource list for the resources you want to block and the filter that matched them.
    3. Copy the filters to AdBlock's Disabled filters.

The second, easier option is that if you have lots of these, just turn off the Acceptable Ads filter list and whitelist the sites you want to support. :)

Please let us know if you run into any trouble!
