I don't understand the new adblock system. Could there be an option to just black all ads or is there already one I didn't see?

What do you mean? By default, all ads are blocked. Can you help us out by answering the following questions:

    1. What filter lists are enabled at AdBlock Button > Options > Filter Lists?
    2. Does updating your filters using the update now button at the Filter Lists page in 1. fix this?
    3. What is in the big textbox at AdBlock Button > Options > Customise?
    4. What browser are you using?
    5. Uncheck all filter lists and restart your browser. Does the problem disappear?
      • If unchecking all filter lists fixes the problem, which one filter list must you check to cause the problem again after another restart?
    6. What version of AdBlock is installed? (Found in top-right of AdBlock Button > Options)

    2. the update now button doesn't seem to do anything
    3. nothing is in the text box
    4. i am using chrome
    5. i don't know how to uncheck the filter list
    6. my version is 2.6.16

That explains it! Go to the Filter lists page (AdBlock Button > Options >
Filter lists) and check EasyList and AdBlock Custom Filters. Also, if
you're not English, choose your own language from the "-- Select Language
    --" dropdown.
