I have included the bottom part of the previous posting in the
screenshot, so it can be seen what I mean. This is typical of the
random appearance of the iframes / ads. Go there another time &
it’ll display in full. If I disable AdBlock the empty space
will be filled with an even more annoying ad.

Sorry — I meant a link to the other closed thread you

that I can't be sure.
I think it 'may' have been this one, which although not 'quite' the
same, it looks very similar, inasmuch as the iframes remain,
although the content is removed.

It's like if you want to wallpaper your room, but there's a
painting hanging in the way. You remove the painting, but the
frame's still getting in the way (even if you can't see it).

Jerrytag:old-support.getadblock.com,2013-08-06:Comment/341551072014-08-22T14:34:54Z2014-08-22T14:34:54ZAdBlock & iFrames

Hi!

Can you post a screenshot with the ad clearly marked. If you
can, can you edit it in Paint to make it obvious what the problem
is. I'll attach your first screenshot here, as for some reason we
couldn't see where the ad was on it.

Kierantag:old-support.getadblock.com,2013-08-06:Comment/341551072014-08-22T20:12:00Z2014-08-22T20:12:08ZAdBlock & iFrames

This is a more up to date example, chowing the problem a little
more clearly, without any need for editing.

The 2 screenshots are of the same posting - one with Adblock
Enabled, the other with Adblock Disabled. The result is self
evident.

As I said previously, the size of these iFrames also tends to
vary, even within the same site, presumably to accommodate the size
of the ad. This is an example of one of the more extreme ones. My
previous posting was one of the effect made by one of the lesser
ones.

Jerrytag:old-support.getadblock.com,2013-08-06:Comment/341551072014-08-25T11:46:56Z2014-08-25T11:46:56ZAdBlock & iFrames

We couldn't reproduce the issue on our side. Since you're seeing
the same behavior with both AdBlock and Adblock Plus, it sounds
like an issue with something else on your computer.

Try disabling other extensions (and remove any that you don't
remember installing), and run an antivirus/antimalware scan on your

Yes it is still a problem – primarily in a forum I
frequent, forumgarden.com. Adblock gets rid of the adverts, but the
frames that contain them generally remain. This is especially a
nuisance when the ads appear to the right of postings, causing them
to squeeze the actual posts to a limited width of characters. This
is even more apparent as I tend to have my display set to larger
fonts, as I sit quite a distance back from my screen.

I see the same behavior, particularly on outlook.com. The ads
themselves are blocked or hidden, but the space they would
ordinarily take up remains. For these you might try using AdBlock's
custom blocking wizard, which will help you isolate and eliminate
those frames.

Right-click the item you want to hide and select
AdBlock > Block this ad.

Slide the slider until the entire item is blocked.

Click Looks good, then click Block
it!

Please let us know if this doesn't help!
