Too Resource Consuming

AdBlock could easily run with < 15,000k. Instead it runs with an amazing 85,000 - 90,000 k... which is a huuuuge uh oh.

It is a suggestion to control resources being used more efficiently.

Thanks

    Hi Cody,

The vast number of ads on the web means that the lists of ad sources that we use to block ads have grown to almost 100 MB each. AdBlock loads the lists into memory while it starts up to help pages load faster afterward. That causes an initially heavy hit on your computer's resources.

You can minimize AdBlock's resource usage by:

    1. Disabling any filter lists you don't need in AdBlock's options.
    2. Not keeping a lot of tabs open. AdBlock must run on every tab to work, so more tabs open means more memory used.

If you see a ridiculous amount or it keeps climbing and doesn't stop, please report it to us!
